Happy Halloween!

I know I have already posted today but that was at like 2am so was suppose to be yesterday's post, and it is Halloween so I have to post Halloween nails right?
For this eyeball mani I followed a tutorial by Chalkboard Nails. The link for the tutorial is HERE

I started with a base of OPI DS Extravagance. Two easy coats and it is oh so pretty!

The tutorial has step by step instructions which are super easy to follow.
The polishes I used are:
BYS Matte White (for the whites of the eyeballs and the light reflection)
OPI Big Hair...Big Nails (sheer jelly for the bloodshot veins of the eyeballs)
OPI Dating a Royal, Revlon Emerald City and Miss D Catch Up For Coffee (for the irises)
BYS Black Satin (for the pupils)

31 Day Challenge Day 19

Today for the challenge was another first; Galaxy nails. These nails were a bit fun but I think they could have turned out better.

I started with a base of two coats of Orly Lunar Eclipse. The other polishes used were Essie Nice is Nice, Essie Mint Candy Apple, OPI Austin-tatious Turquoise, Sally Hansen Celeb City, OPI Simmer and Shimmer, and Revlon Not So Blueberry. All of these polishes were sponged on. LA Color Art Deco Silver was applies with a dotting tool to create stars. Next up for the challenge is Water Marble =)

31 Day Challenge Day 18

Hey ladies, hope you're all having an awesome weekend! For all you New Zealand ladies, I suggest you check NZ Sale. They have China Glaze, normal colours for $7.95 and crackles for $11.95!! The sale closes on Monday so check it out now!!
Today for the challenge is Half Moons. This was my first ever half moon mani and I really like how it turned out.

This is a base of OPI 'And This Little Piggy' (4 coats!! Ouch but so worth it, such a pretty polish) then one coat of OPI 'OPI Ink Seude'. In the above photos there is no top coat over OPI Ink. It looks so different with a top coat. The next couple of photos are with one so you can see the difference.

To do the half moons I used a cupcake plaster which is shaped like the following image. I didnt have any of those circle stickers that some people use so had to improvise haha

(image is from google)
Next up for the challenge is Galaxy Nails

31 Day Challenge Day 17

Today for the challenge is Glitter! I couldn't decide on one glitter polish to use for this mani so I used 5

I started with one coat of non glitter polish as a base on each finger. Thumb is Sally Hansen Celeb City, index is OPI Jade is the New Black, middle is Orly Sweet Peacock, ring is Orly Frolic and pinky is OPI Party in my Cabana. Then over the top I added one coat of glitter. Thumb is OPI Crown Me Already, index is China Glaze Atlantis, middle is China Glaze Dorothy Who?, ring is BYS Diamond Glitter Rubies and Sapphires and pinky is China Glaze Bad Kitty. The edges of each finger is the same base and glitter polishes as the previous finger..if that makes sense. And finally I added a black line using LA Color Art Deco Black

Here's a shot of everything I used. Next up for the challenge is Half Moons

31 Day Challenge Day 16

Today my wee blog made it to 200 followers =) I'm really stoked that I've reached this milestone so thank you to every single one of you.
Day 16 of the challenge is Tribal Nails:

I started with one coat of Miss D 'Catch Up For Coffee'. The blue is Orly Sapphire Silk, red is Berry Delicious, green is OPI Jade is the New Black, and the black and white are both LA Color Art Deco polishes with the long thin brush. This design isn't something I would usually do and I'm still not quite sure what I think about it. Tomorrow for the challenge is Glitter!!

31 Day Challenge Day 15

Today is the half way point for the challenge and I will be showing you 'Delicate Print'. For this I used one of the new Maybelline Colorama polishes I picked up in Sydney; Sweet Candy.

This is two coats. the first coat came out a bit streaky and patchy but it sorted itself out with the second coat. Next I added stamping using plate BM20 and Revlon 'No Shrinking Violet' as the stamping polish.

This is my absolute favourite stamp from the first set of Bundle Monster stamping plates. Like the rest of the full nail stamps in the first set of BM plates, the image is quite small, thankfully they made them bigger in the second set. In order to get full coverage on the thumb, I just turned the stamp sideways and stamped twice =)
Next up for the challenge will be Tribal Print

I'm Back + Holiday Haul

Hello everybody! I'm back from my trip to Sydney and I have a lot to share but first of all I just want to say that my 100 follower giveaway closes in 1 hour!! After it has closed I will draw a winner and will most likely post about it tomorrow =) Thank you to everyone who is a follower and for all the comments you leave. I read and appreciate every single one.

Onto the haul. I was in Sydney for 5 days and bought 20 nail polishes. I don't know about everyone else but this is a LOT for me to buy in less than a week.

I realized just after I took this photo that I missed one polish haha whoops

Now don't get too excited. This is not a real Nfu Oh! Although I really wish it was =P Just the bottle is similar to Nfu Oh! It is actually Scandal 'Moody Sky'; a metallic teal-y blue. Next is Revlon Glimmer Gloss 'Strawberry Sizzle'. This is so damn pretty! It is a very bright fuchsia with purple flecks, the flecks are like tiny flakies =) This is designed to go over the top of other polishes. Next is Maybelline Blazing Berry; another bright fuchsia, not as bright as Strawberry Sizzle though, with gold flecks. Next up is Sally Hansen 'Disco Ball' . This is a almost milky clear base packed with light blue, green and silver glitter. It is very snow-like and I think will be prefect for a Christmas mani. From what I have seen of the new China Glaze Christmas collection, it looks a lot like Snow Globe minus the bigger hex glitter.

These two are quite possibly my favourites from the trip. On the left is Hello Kitty 'Violet Salome'. I have it on at the moment and it is insanely pretty and impossible to photograph!! The photos are so inaccurate colour-wise. It is actually a plum purple with a duo-chrome simmer in lighter purple and gold but when it is photographed it comes out dark purple/navy. On the right is OPI 'And This Little Piggy'. Pretty pretty pretty!!!!! It is a rose pink with gold and purple shimmer. The polish is quite thin so would be best layered over something else.

Next up is 8 Maybelline Mini Colorama. In the pack there is Party Blue, Urban Coral, Icing Sugar, Ultra Violet, Urban Orange, Wonder Violet and Urban Lemon. All except for Urban Orange and Wonder Violet are cremes, UO and WV are shimmers. The single bottle is called Sweet Candy and is a pastel metallic.

And finally, the BYS polishes. From the left there is Diamond Glitter Rubies and Sapphires, Scented Bright Orange, Scented Light Purple, Purple, Gold Glitter and Light Purple. If you ask me, BYS have become really boring with the names of their polishes.
There ya have it. 20 polishes. I will be doing some swatches this week. Any requests for what to see first?

When I got home this afternoon I was welcomes by some nail mail from the fabulous Tracy from The Trace Face Philes. I snapped up a couple of Wet'N'Wild's On The Prowl polishes from Tracy's blog sale. Correction Tape and Tangled In My Web. If you aren't already a follower of Tracy, I suggest you become one! She has an awesome blog, a great blog sale and AMAZING giveaways!!

Before I left, my OPI muppets polishes arrived!! I had only ordered two but I plan to order the rest of the glitters in the coming weeks. In the above photo from the left is OPI Gettin' Miss Piggy With It, Rainbow Connection, Wet'N'Wild Tangled In My Web and Correction Tape.
Phew, that was a lot!! Good on ya if you made it through all that jibber jabber haha. Keep an eye out for haul swatches, giveaway winner announcement and continuation of the 31 day challenge =)

31 Day Challenge Day 14

Hey guys, just a quick post today. I have day 31 of the challenge to share; flowers

This is two coats of OPI Dating a Royal with stamping done using BM221 with Australis Sky High as the stamping polish. Next up in the challenge is 'Delicate Print'

Orly Frisky Swatch

Today I have a swatch from Orly's Happy Ho Lucky collection: Frisky. I also have Frolic from this collection and I loooove it!! I'm defo thinking about getting the other two polishes from this collection: Flirty and Fresh.
Frisky is a very bright happy blue, perfect fro spring/summer.

This is only one coat. Very easy to apply and works well for stamping

Then I added one coat of Kleancolor Grand Finale. I like the shape of the KC glitter but I found while wearing it the glitter pieces would stick up and catch on things, even through the top coat, so I'm not so impressed with that. Frisky however is awesome, just like Frolic =)

31 Day Challenge Day 13

Oh boy do I have a good one today! I LOVE how this one turned out. I seriously do not want to take it off. Before I started my blog I had an album of nail art on my personal facebook page for my friends to see. I was suppose to make the 100th photo epic and I was feeling the pressure. This was my 100th photo and day 13 of the challenge: animal print

Monarch Butterflies

<3 love love love <3

Here is what I used to create this look:
  • Orly Orange Sorbet
  • BYS Black Satin
  • BYS Matte White
  • Nails Supreme two way nail art pen in yellow

*sigh* I love this so much, I even did both hands! I can't stop looking at it which is getting in the way of doing other things, like assignments that are due today =O
Back to the books I go
Happy Friday everyone!! =)

31 Day Challenge Day 12

First of all I want to say a big welcome to all the new followers!! And thank you for all the birthday messages =) I'll have another post about birthday nails after my party next weekend.

Day 12 of the challenge is Stripes:
Left hand

Right hand

I started with a one coat base of BYS Matte White then added stripes using BYS Black Satin, OPI Do You Lilac It?, Orly Here Comes Trouble and Winmax silver holo. When I did my right hand, I was getting bored so I did all the stripes the same way because that was easier and the silver was done using LA Girl Silver instead of Winmax silver holo.
Next for the challenge will be Animal Print. Have a great day everyone! =)

You Blue Me Away

Hey everyone! A couple weeks ago I painted my friend's nails for a wedding and I really liked the way they turned out so I'm going to show all of you =)

This is two coats of Orly Lunar Eclipse and the stamp is Bornpretty Fauxnad plate M64 done with Konad White. I can't quite pin point why I like this so much but I do!
Hope everyone is having a good week!

Happy Birthday To Me

Hello! Yesterday was my 21st birthday, so today I thought I'd share what I had on my nails at the time. I planned to do something spectacular and OTT but I ran out of time and ended up keeping on what I did the other day haha. Anyway, here it is

I've been planning to do a mani like this for months and I finally got around to it! I used BYS Hocus Pocus, with Nubar 2010 over the top. The black is BYS Black Satin, white is BYS Matte White and red is BYS Rebel Red.

I started with a base of BYS Matte White, then used a dotting tool and OPI Do You Lilac It?, Mermaid's Tears, Sparrow Me The Drama, Orly Lollipop, Lemonade, Frisky and Australis Sky High.
