31 Day Challenge Day 28

Hey all. Today for the challenge is 'Inspired by a Flag'. Back in March I did a mani showing the flags of countries  of who had visited this blog the most. For those of you who don't have blogs, blogger has a section that shows you what countries your blog views are coming from. I picked the top five countries. A link to this post is HERE. So for this part of the challenge I will be doing the same thing. My blog has grown quite a bit since then and the viewers have changed quite a lot. This time I did not do the same flags that I did last time. The most views in the last day have come from New Zealand, Russia, Chile, Germany and Singapore

Germany and Singapore

Russia and Chile

And NZ.

The polishes used are BYS Matte White, LA Color Black Velvet, BYS Rebel Red, OPI Dating A Royal (blue) and Nail Supreme Nail Art Pen Yellow.
Next up for the challenge is 'Inspired by the Supernatural'. Only three more challenge posts to go!

31 Day Challenge Day 27

Hey everyone! Four more weeks and it'll be Christmas!! Does anyone have any plans for their xmas day mani? I've been having a think about it but haven't made any decisions yet.  I don't know why but I am actually looking forward to Christmas this year.
Today for the challenge is 'Inspired by Artwork'. I had seen other people's Van Gogh manis floating around and always like them but wanted to do something different. However when it came time to actually do it I could not stop thinking of Starry Night. I even had the song Vincent by Don McLean stuck in my head. So I took it all as a sign and did Van Gogh Starry Night nails

Here is all the polishes used:
LA Color Art Deco Black
China Glaze Swing Baby
China Glaze The Ten Man
OPI Yoga-ta Get This Blue
China Glaze GR8
Nicole By OPI Me+Blue
Milani Cyberspace
LA Color Black Velvet
Sally Hansen Celeb City
BYS Matte White
Sally Hansen Disco Ball
Orly Winter Wonderland
Yowzah that's a lot of polish! haha

31 Day Challenge Day 25

Hello everyone!Today for the challenge is inspired by fashion. I didn't have any ideas of what to do for this so I googled some designer names and looked until I found something I liked. I'll show the inspiration at the bottom but first, the nails

I used two coats of OPI Big Hair...Big Nails as the base then for the accent nail I used OPI Austin-Tatious Turquoise, China Glaze Grape Juice, China Glaze Swing Baby and LA Colors Silver.

And here is the inspiration...
This is from a Prada runway show. All the dresses are so crazy, fun and bright! You should check it out.

31 Day Challenge Day 24

Good morning/evening/afternoon where ever you may be. Hope you're all having a great weekend. In light of the new release movie from the Twilight saga, Breaking Dawn, today for the challenge I have chosen Twilight for "inspired by a book".

I started with two coats of Color Club Red Velvet then added white semi circles using BYS Matte White for the apples

Over the white I added one coat of OPI Big Hair... Big Nails. I added more white as I had done to do the apple, to do the stem and leaves. Then coloured over the top of the white with Miss D Catch Up For Coffee and China Glaze Four Leaf Clover. Then added more white to the side of each apple as a light reflection.

One coat of Seche Vite and it's done! I hope you all like it.
Are you a fan of the twilight saga?

31 Day Challenge Day 23

Argh another week of no posting! Time has been getting away from me lately but I will make more of an effort to post this week.
Today's challenge post is "Inspired by a Movie" and the movie I chose is Finding Nemo. Check it out

Started with two coats of BYS Matte White then one coat of China Glaze White Cap

The orange is BYS Scented Bright Orange outlined with LA Color Art Deco Black. The orange may say it is scented but I could not smell a thing!

My China Glaze haul arrived this week too

From the left: White Cap, Swing Baby, Outta Bounds, Four Leaf Clover, Flying Dragon Neon and Grape Juice. I also picked up a spare bottle of Seche Vite.
Next for the challenge is "Inspired by a Book".

OPI Excuse Moi

Hey everyone. I hope you've all had a great week and are having an even better weekend. Today I have a swatch from the OPI muppets collection: Excuse Moi. This is by far my favourite of the muppets glitters.

Isn't it pretty?! Excuse Moi is a pinkish red glitter in a pinkish red base with orange blue green yellow pink and silver glitter. And it only takes two coats for full coverage. =)

31 Day Challenge Day 22

Hey everyone! Sorry for being a bad blogger in the last week. Life got in the way so wasn't able to post as often as I would have liked. I am now exam free (yay!) and am on holiday briefly until my summer paper starts next week. So I was all psyched  for having a week where I could do anything I wanted and generally relax for a bit but apparently someone had other ideas. For my part time job I work nights and after finishing work last night I came out to find that someone had broken into my car. There is glass everywhere and they kicked in the passenger door. The weird thing is that nothing is missing, they seem to have broken in but not taken anything. So that really ruined my day and today hasn't been a lot better. My one shining light from today is that my Born Pretty order arrived =) so now I have two new stamping plates and twenty nail swatch wheel things (I don't know what they're called haha). I'm working on swatching all of my polishes on these wheels and colour coding it all. I'll take some photos and show you all when I'm done.

Anyway! On to the nails. Today for the challenge is "Inspired by a Song". I chose Piano Man by Billy Joel. It's old and something my parents listen to but I really like it.

I used BYS Matte White, BYS Black Satin, China Glaze Ring In The Red, LA Colors Art Deco black and white, Wet'N'Wild Tangled in my Web and Konad white stamping polish with plates M73 (index) and BM207 (middle).
Here is a link to the song this was inspired by: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxEPV4kolz0&ob=av2n
Here is China Glaze Ring In The Red by itself. This is from CG's Christmas collection. It is small and medium sized red glitter in a red jelly base. It took two coats for full coverage and the colour is awesome! So Christmas-y! I also got Twinkle Lights from this collection but haven't tried it out yet so stay tuned for that sometime soon.
Next up for the challenge is 'Inspired by a Movie'.

31 Day Challenge Day 21

Finally the "inspired by" part of the challenge is here. I think this is where it gets a bit more interesting although today is a bit of a contradiction to that. Today for the challenge is "inspired by a colour". From what I've seen from other bloggers doing the challenge is that there seems to have been some confusion as to what this means. So I just picked my favourite colour and went for something simple.

Thumb: Revlon No Shrinking Violet
Index: Nicole By OPI Virtuous Violet
Middle: China Glaze Spontaneous
Ring: OPI Do You Lilac It?
Pinky: Essie Nice is Nice

This mani was a bit boring for me so I added some OPI Silver Shatter in an attempt to liven things up.
Next for the challenge is "inspired by a song".

Here is the nail mail. From the left there is OPI Excuse Moi! from the Muppets Collection, then China Glaze Twinkle Lights and Ring in the Red from the Let It Snow Christmas collection. These China Glaze polishes make me really excited for Christmas =)
