Love is in the Air

Oh how I love Nicole by OPI's polish "Me + Blue". As much as I dislike the Biebs, this polish is so pretty it's almost worth having something associated with him. =P

I found the stickers in a discount store when I was looking for a crown to wear to a get together to watch the royal wedding last night. I found these heart stickers, little white flower stickers and a rhinestone wheel for $2 each.

For the last few weeks I've been painting my friend's nails. Its been good practise and I used my new Bundle Monster plates on her yesterday...

This is two coats of OPI "Tease-y Does It" and Konad silver stamped using BM205

Bringing Out Your Wild Side

My Bundle Monster plates arrived yesterday!! I was so surprised that they arrived so soon. The website said they wouldn't arrive until mid to late May so I am very impressed! =D I will have a play with them today.
I thought I'd show you the other hand I did at the same time as my last post, so it has the same colours: Nicole by OPI "Make Mine Lime", I've got the Power" and Virtuous Violet".

I stamped using Konad plate m57 with special konad polish black and silver.
I'm off to play with my new plates and then write an assignment I should have done last week (whoops! =P)
I hope everybody has a lovely Friday!

All Sorts of Goodies!!

Today has been a very exciting polish day!! To start thins off, my friend and I went shopping where I picked up my first flaky polish, Colour Club "Covered in Diamonds", as well as Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear "Celeb City"..

After shopping, my parents arrived home from their holiday in Australia and brought with them 7 new nail polishes for me!!! SEVEN!! =) They're the best! haha.

From the left there is OPI "Bogota Blackberry", "Big Hair...Big Nails", "Tease-y Does It" and "Simmer and Shimmer"

From the left again, there is Nicole by OPI "I've Got The Power", "Virtuous Violet" and "Make Mine Lime". They're all so pretty!! I wanted to try them all out but that would have turned into a mismatched mess so I settled for using the three Nicole polishes

This is two coats of the violet and pink and three coats of green. The Green came out a little bit sheer so needed the extra coat. I love these colours! They're so bright. "Virtuous Violet" has a bit of a pink shimmer to it that didn't show up in the photos.
I stamped using Konad polish black and silver on Konad plate m63. The silver tips were done using Sally Hansen "Celeb City".
I cannot wait to try the rest of these polishes and no doubt photos will be up on here soon! Stay tuned.

How Fancy!

Hello Lovely Readers!!
I bought a couple new Orly polishes. They were still on sale from a couple weeks ago (click Here) and they had the one I wanted: Orly Royal Velvet. The first time I went, it was sold out and this time I got the last one! I also got Orly "Fancy Fuchsia" which I have used in today's design. Originally this design was going to be my Easter mani but it didn't turn out the way I expected.

I messed up the thumb and index finger before taking the photos which was a shame. I started with two coats of Orly "Funky Fuchsia", although it is thick enough to just use one coat. After it dried, I taped them off and used Orly "Green with Envy". I kinda regret using this colour. When I was choosing which colours to use, the green in the bottle went with the other two but on the nail it came out a bit different. For the tips I used Orly "Lemonade" and the spots were done with Supreme Nails nail art pens in silver.

This was the first time I had tried using tape to do a design. I don't know if I would do it again. It took too long for the polish to dry before doing the next colour and I'm too impatient haha.

Happy Easter!

I hope everyone is having a fantastic Easter weekend and is eating loads of chocolate!! Here's the nails..

For this design I did two coats of Orly "Lemonade". It's one of my favourite yellow polishes and I find it works really well for doing water marbling. The bunny on the ring finger was done using Nails Supreme nail art pens in white, black and pink.
Originally I did this mani as a tribute to a hare that my friend hit with his car by accident while driving some friends home after a night on the town. It was pretty sad, and it badly damaged his car too! The design is a bit nicer as an Easter mani though =P
I ordered the new bundle monster stamping plates a couple days ago and I am SO excited for them to arrive. It said it could take a couple weeks though but last time the plates arrived earlier than it said it would so hopefully the same thing happens this time.
And on another note, welcome to my new followers!!
All right, back to the chocolate...mmmmmm =P

Double Design

I couldn't decide which image to use from my new konad plates so I used two..

Both designs are from konad plate m63. The first design is done with a silver konad polish.

The base is two coats of Orly "Charged Up". The hounds tooth design was done with konad special polish in lilac.
I love these two designs. I still can't decide on which one I like better!

Another Leopard

My new konad plates arrived this morning! It was a great way to make up for the fact that it was 6:30am and I was on my way out the door to go babysitting. 6:30 is SO early!!

I got plate m57 and m63. Ever since seeing Rebecca's mani from "Rebecca likes nails" (click here) I've wanted to get m63 and I'm so glad I did. It's definitely my favourite plate so far.
For my mani today I used plate m57

I did one coat of Orly "Shimmering Mauve" over my acrylics then stamped with Konad special polish in black.
To be honest I was a little disappointed with how this turned out. It doesn't help that I stamped crooked too haha. I wish I'd done the whole mani leopard print like the ring finger. I might do them again after work tonight.

I've crossed to the dark side

For Christmas last year, my sister gave me a voucher for me to get my nails done and on Saturday I finally got around to getting them done. It was a nice way to relax after a stressful uni week and a perfect way to welcome midterm break. Going in I was only going to get my nails shaped and polished but came out with this....

Acrylics! With sparkly white tips. I haven't had acrylic nails since my 7th form ball three years ago. I like getting them every so often but prefer the look of natural nails. It's nice to have a change every once in a while though. The manicurist did a cute little flower on the ring finger...

The pink is a bit more hot pink than it is in the picture. I'm going to have a go at painting them in the next couple of days.
Hopefully tomorrow my new konad plates will arrive!! Will keep y'all posted =D

Quit Bugging Me, Lady

Helloooo! Hope everyone has had a great week. Mine has been so hectic, I haven't had time for most things let a lone painting my nails, so they're naked at the moment! =S This week I've had assignments and tests for uni but its all over now and I'm on holiday for two weeks! YAY. I have to do two assignments in that time but it shouldn't be too bad. Today I have a mani I did a few months ago..

Lady Birds!! When I was a kid I use to love ladybirds. There was a big oak tree at my primary school that always had them on it and my friends and I would find them and put them in our lunch boxes.
For this I used Orly "Star Spangled" and Supreme Nails nail art pen in "Black"

Vintage Turquoise

I did a new mani today and couldn't wait until tomorrow to share it so two posts today!! I've been on a bit of a Konad kick and wanted to try out the full nail images

I started with two coats of OPI "Austin-tatious Turquoise"

Then stamped using Black Konad polish on Bundle Monster plate 20

This was my first time using a full nail image and it turned out to be easier than I had been expecting. I think it helped that the pattern isn't as formulaic as some of the other full nail images!
I was at the mall today because I had heard that the OPI Katy Perry range was FINALLY in stores so went to have a look. I already have "Teenage Dream" and "Not Like the Movies" but wanted to check out "Last Friday Night" and "The One That Got Away". They're pretty but personally I don't think they're worth the exorbitant prices that they are here in NZ. Then I saw that there was a sale on Orly; buy one get one free so I got these two..

This is Orly "Charged Up" and "Gilded Coral". I can't wait to try them out!
The other day my Mum bought me some mini Orly polishes she had found on sale and a Russian Doll keyring! <3
This is Orly "Groupie".
Well that's me for today! Back to studying I go..

Shattersphere

Just a quick post this morning, I have a busy day planned with all sorts of fun things like studying and writing essays.=P I would like to welcome my two new followers!! It's great to have you here.
Here is a design I did the other day before work. I planned to do some stamping but ran out of time so Black Shatter it is!

I did two coats of Australis "Knickers in a Knot" as a base, OPI "Black Shatter on a diagonal (I love how it shatters which ever way you stroke it) and finished it off with L.A Colours Art Deco in silver.

Starry Eyed

Hey! Hope everyone's weeks are going well. Only a week and a half until I get two weeks holiday!! I have to do two assignments in that time which dampens things a bit but oh well, I'm happy, partly because my new nail polishes have arrived!! YAAAY!!

I got Konad silver and black, China Glaze "Second-Hand Silk" and China Glaze "Secret Peri-wink-le". Last night I wanted to try them out so here is the result..

I did two coats of CG "Secret Peri-wink-le" then used Bundle Monster plate 21 with black. I tried stamping the silver konad polish over the blue but it didn't show up very well. Here is the BM plate..

I'm so excited for the new plates to come out!! I hear they have bigger full nail images. I always want to use the full nail images but can never line them up right or they don't cover my whole nail so the bigger images will be awesome!!

When did April get here?!

April already!? Gee this year is going fast
Sometimes i get my inspiration for manicures from other bloggers and today's design is influenced by Leslie from polishartaddiction.blogspot.com and more specifically this post (Click Here). It was so pretty and girly, love it! I did a green version though it looks more blue in the photo...

You can see the wee marks on my index finger from where the nail polish wasn't dry properly when I went to sleep =P
I did 2 coats of BYS "Kung Fu Blue" on all nails. The thumb then has two coats of China Glaze "Atlantis" (SO sparkly!!). The stripes on index, middle and pinky are done with Orly "Green with Envy". Then I added some pearls and gems from a little asian shop is Auckland. It was the first time I have used the pearls and I am very impressed with how long they have stayed on! They will most likely fall off tonight though as I have work.
A couple posts ago I said I would post a picture of last weeks new nail polishes and here it is..

From the left there is BYS "Glitter Purple", BYS "Pink Outside the Square", Australis "Limited Edition 1", Orly "Green With Envy" and Essie "Mint Candy Apple". The last two are from this week. I already had a 5mL Orly "Green with Envy" so when I saw the full sized bottle on Trade Me for only $5 I had to get it. I'm waiting on two China Glaze and two Konad polishes to arrive in the post. Hopefully tomorrow!!
